The weather changes a lot in Iowa. It is one of the features of our state we like. Now and then, we enjoy some of the most splendid and beautiful days. It was like that recently with absolutely clear skies, very light breeze, and 72˚F. We changed clothes and drove a few miles to a favorite place, FW Kent County Park. We hiked around the central lake and then around a smaller pond in the northeast corner. Total distance was about 2 miles. Not far. But, it was a beautiful day. Not much needs to be said. The pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy!
Yeah, when the midwest presents us with a beautiful day we really have to drop everything and enjoy it, don’t we? Loved the photos 🙂
Thanks. We had a good time — photos that lovely were easy that day.
Proof as ever that the small and gentle places often trump the ones which are awe inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Right you are. There are many places like that. It’s good to find them.
Not till now had I heard of sawtooth sunflowers, whose scientific name I see is Helianthus grosseserratus. The species part, which means big-toothed, is a rough translation of the common name, and it’s interesting the way the translator stuck an e between the double s and the single s to keep from having a triple s.
A beautiful day indeed!
It looks like a wonderful day! September is a lovely month in the midwest.
It and October a two of my favorites.
Yes, the pictures speak volumes! 😀
Thank you. Nice to see you.
For someone who is supposed to be semi-retired,I sure have been working a lot.
I know what you mean. I have to be careful not to get involved in too many things. It is easy to do. This year has been pretty busy. But, a lot of it has not been of my choosing.
Those blue skies are gorgeous!
Now and then, we are blessed with days of exceptional blue clear skies. They are the best.
